Cfx Marketplace: Rockstar makes selling FiveM/RedM scripts and MLOs official

Published on

Ever since Cfx.re — the team behind FiveM and RedM — joined Rockstar Games back in 2023, the roleplay community has wondered what a deeper integration between the two would eventually look like. The answer arrived on January 12, 2026 with the launch of the Cfx Marketplace, an official, curated storefront where creators can sell scripts, MLOs (custom interiors/maps), props, and other roleplay tools directly.

What launched

The Marketplace opened with roughly sixteen selected creators, with several more listed as “coming soon” through an application-based process. The content categories match what you’d expect from any FiveM/RedM store: scripts, MLOs, props, and other multiplayer roleplay tools. Launch pricing ranged from single premium items to larger creator bundles.

What the updated license agreement says

The same day, Cfx.re published an updated Creator Platform License Agreement. A few points that matter directly to studios like ours that sell scripts and MLOs:

  • Selling mods, scripts, and MLOs remains allowed, and is now formally supported through this new channel.
  • Still prohibited: “Cash Out” style mechanics (exchanging real money for in-game value), casino-style mini-games, selling virtual currency, or running a server as if it were an official Rockstar-branded extension.
  • Buyers of a one-time-purchase Marketplace item get a perpetual license; a subscription-based license, on the other hand, ends if the subscription is cancelled — worth knowing if your studio is weighing a subscription model over one-time sales.
  • Reselling purchased content, reverse-engineering it, or using it to train AI systems are all explicitly banned.
  • Servers must clearly disclose that they are not approved, sponsored, or endorsed by Rockstar Games.

What about RedM?

Good news for the Red Dead Redemption 2 crowd: these rules and the new Marketplace apply to RedM too. This isn’t a FiveM-only initiative — RedM script and MLO creators can apply and sell under the same terms.

Why it matters to you

Whether you run a FiveM or RedM server, selling scripts and MLOs is no longer just “tolerated as long as it stays low-key” — there’s now an official framework, spelled out directly by Rockstar/Cfx.re. At KEOPS Studios, we keep selling our scripts and MLOs through our own store and Tebex, in line with these rules, and we’ll keep watching how this official Marketplace evolves.

Status as of January 12, 2026. Rockstar/Cfx.re reserves the right to change these rules at any time — always check the official source before making a business decision based on this article.
