New Cfx.re monetization rules: what you can (and can't) sell on your server in 2026

If you own or admin a FiveM or RedM server, the monetization question always comes up eventually: what can you legally sell on your Tebex storefront? Since January 12, 2026, the answer has been governed by an updated version of Cfx.re’s Creator Platform License Agreement. Here’s what to know.

Why this changed

On the official forum, Cfx.re explained it wanted to “simplify and align the Platform License Agreement with updates made to the Rockstar Games Terms of Service earlier this year and to support continued updates to the Creator Services.” Creators had to accept the new terms to keep using the platform past that date.

What you CANNOT sell

  • In-game currency exchanged for real money, or any cash-out mechanism.
  • Real-money gambling (casino games, slot machines, blackjack, poker) and loot box/gacha systems — even when paid for with in-game currency.
  • Content owned by Rockstar Games, or reproducing real-world brands, logos, vehicles, or weapons.
  • Reselling third-party content you didn’t create or don’t hold the rights to.
  • Cryptocurrency and NFTs, explicitly named as prohibited.
  • Sponsorships or branded content on behalf of third parties.

Tebex adds its own restrictions on top: nothing convertible to real-world currency, and nothing that “impacts core gameplay or other servers.”

What you CAN sell

  • Server ranks, cosmetic perks, or recognition.
  • Queue priority (as long as its exact benefits are clearly described).
  • Clearly defined memberships or bundles.
  • Content you actually own or have the rights to use.

Storefront requirements

The Creator Platform License Agreement also sets formal requirements: clearly identify the server operator with a contact email, display the notice “[SERVER NAME] IS NOT APPROVED, SPONSORED, OR ENDORSED BY ROCKSTAR GAMES,” and precisely describe every benefit sold — per Tebex policy, the word “donation” alone isn’t an acceptable label.
